  • Our Ward night will be Thursday nights

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Kahaluʻu Ward,

We hope that this past holiday season has been filled with warmth and love, and that youʻve been able to spend time with the people we love the most. As we begin this new year, our hearts are heavy yet filled with a profound sense of gratitude as we reflect on the recent passing of President Jeffrey R. Holland. For decades, his voice has been a trumpet of the Lord, calling us to higher ground and reminding us, with distinctive power and clarity, of the reality of our Father in Heaven and his son, Jesus the Christ.

Elder Holland often spoke of the "grandeur of God," teaching us that our Heavenly Father is not a distant, austere observer, but a loving parent who runs to greet us when we are yet far off. He testified that Jesus is the Christ, the Anointed One, who descended below all things so that he could lift us above all things.

May we, as the Kahaluʻu Ward, also commit ourselves to be that same witness. May we "stand by our post" and cherish the mercy of the Savior whom Elder Holland loved so dear. As Elder Holland famously testified, "I did not know then that I would face what I face now... but I want it absolutely clear when I stand before the judgment bar of God that I declared to the world... that the Book of Mormon is true, that it came forth the way Joseph said it came forth."

We will miss his thunderous testimony and his tender pleading for the "one"—the lonely, the discouraged, and the downtrodden. His greatest legacy is as a special witness of our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ, and that they appeared to the boy Joseph Smith.  He testified that they restored the true and living church through the prophet Joseph Smith, and that they continue to live today.

With love,Bro. Adam Laimana

Executive Secretary, Kahaluʻu Ward

WARD ZONE INFORMATION

MISSIONARY CORNER

During this christmas season and always i invite us all to look outside ourselves, its so common and easy to get lost in the commotion of the worldy christmas to the point we forget the reason we celebrate, we should follow the example in matthew 25:

"For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me."

The lord promises us that if we do these things, and follow His example we will be blessed, he says:

"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

I testify that Jesus Christ is the savior and redeemer of the world. I know that he was born and that he died for us. I know he loves you and has a plan for you. I say these things in his precious, name Jesus Christ amen.

woot woot merry christmas thank you for all the christmas love, i really appreciate it, 60 weeks down ill catch yall next christmas alofa atu family

alofas,

elder fano
