Aloha Kahalu’u Ward Ohana,
As the heavy rains continue to pour across our island today following last night’s intense rains, our hearts and prayers are with all of you—especially those currently navigating life without power or dealing with the impact of the winds. In these moments when the literal and figurative "mighty storm" of Helaman 5:12 feels so present, we are reminded that our Savior is the only sure foundation that "cannot fall." Though the lights may be out in many of our homes, we can still reflect the Light of Christ by checking on our neighbors and offering a helping hand where it is safe to do so. As President Russell M. Nelson once comforted us, "The Lord will provide miracles as we follow His lead... and help others to do the same." Please stay safe, stay dry, and know that we look forward to gathering together to find peace and spiritual strength together.

MONTHLY FAMILY MESSAGE

STRENGTHEN MARRIAGES THROUGH FAITH AND PRAYER
Husbands and wives should work together to increase their Faith in Jesus Christ.
How can increase faith in the Savior help married couples strengthen their relationship with one another? They become more Christlike in their treatment of each other. They become more loving, helpful, gentle, patient and willing to listen to one another. They become more humble and willing to repent and follow the Savior's teachings. The more willing each spouse is to repent and become like the Savior, the more harmonious the marriage will be. Husband and wife are blessed when they pray together.
Gordon B Hinkley counseled: " I know of no single practice that will have a more salutary effect upon your lives than the practice of kneeling together as you begin and close each day. Somehow the little storms that seem to afflict every marriage are dissipated when, kneeling before the Lord, you thank him for one another, in the presence of one another, and together invoke his blessings upon your lives, your home, your loved ones and your dreams.
