Aloha Kahalu’u Ward Ohana!

In Acts 10:38, we read five simple words that describe the entire mortal ministry of Jesus Christ: “Jesus went about doing good.” What an understatement! Every miracle He performed - every leper cleansed, every broken heart comforted, every sinner forgiven - was at its core the same gift: a new beginning.

Elder Patrick Kearon reminded us in October 2025 General Conference that this is the church of new beginnings. Through the sacrament, through repentance, through our covenants - Jesus offers us as many fresh starts as we need. Not one. Not a few. As many as we need.

As the Kahalu’u Ward focuses this year on Home-centered Church, we are invited to bring that same spirit of renewal into our homes. Family prayer, family home evening, and Come Follow Me are daily invitations to let Christ in, to fill our lamps one drop at a time, and to build homes that are true sanctuaries against the adversary’s attacks.

Maybe life has felt heavy lately. Maybe your family routines have slipped. Maybe you’ve quietly wondered if it’s too late to start over. It isn’t. The Savior’s invitation in Matthew 11:28 is still open: “Come unto me… and I will give you rest.” He is not adding to your load. He is offering to replace it.

This week, choose one thing. Family prayer. A short scripture together. Ten minutes of Come Follow Me around the table. It doesn’t need to be perfect - it just needs to happen. That is how lamps get filled. That is how our homes become more holy.

MONTHLY FAMILY MESSAGE

STRENGTHEN MARRIAGES THROUGH FAITH AND PRAYER

Husbands and wives should work together to increase their Faith in Jesus Christ.

How can increase faith in the Savior help married couples strengthen their relationship with one another? They become more Christlike in their treatment of each other.  They become more                  loving, helpful, gentle, patient and willing to listen to one another. They become more humble and willing to repent and follow the Savior's teachings. The more willing each spouse is to repent and become like the Savior, the more harmonious the marriage will be. Husband and wife are blessed when they pray together.

Gordon B Hinkley counseled:  " I know of no single practice that will have a more salutary effect upon your lives than the practice of kneeling together as you begin and close each day.  Somehow the little storms that seem to afflict every marriage are dissipated when, kneeling before the Lord, you thank him for one another, in the presence of one another, and together invoke his blessings upon your lives, your home, your loved ones and your dreams.
