I’ve found that prayer can help refocus my day and deliver comfort when troubled. Please don’t underestimate the power or importance of continual prayer. A prayer of thanks in good times is just as important as a prayer when times are hard.

In the 2026 April General Conference talk titled “Prayers for Peace,” Elder Eyring teaches the importance of prayer:

“Opening the windows of heaven through fervent prayer does not require the use of many words or flowery language. Rather, the diligence in prayer which Heavenly Father requires of us is to “pour out [our] souls” in private places and have our hearts drawn out in prayer unto him continually.”

He goes on to say:

“Brothers and sisters, I bear my testimony that the Savior’s promise is true and that a humble prayer for peace in your heart will be honored. I felt it at the funeral of my wife of 61 years. I was surprised at the feeling of peace and almost joy. The people at the funeral must have wondered why I was smiling. It was because the Lord had answered my prayer for peace with an assurance from the Holy Ghost, which allowed me to envision the happy reunion ahead with her. The Lord gave me the peace and hope that He had promised His disciples.

He said: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled.”

There’s no guarantee our hardships will be taken from us through prayer, but we can definitely gain access to His peace through prayer.

TEACHING CHILDREN THROUGH EXAMPLE & INSTRUCTION

Parents are responsible to teach their children.

Parents can receive inspiration in teaching their children.

Parents teach through example and instruction.

When parents seek direction from the Lord, He will guide them in their efforts to teach their children.

Our children are influenced from a lot of outside sources, with the Lords help and council we can guide them in the right direction. Daily expression of love, communication and concern for each child is very important.

MISSIONARY CORNER

i wanted to share about something that i was studying this past week in the old testament. if you dont know the story of Lot and his family; they lived in an AWFUL city and they were told by God to leave and dont look back, they listened but as they were leaving Lots wife, desiring to go back, looked back and she turned into a pillar of salt.

in our lives we far too often live in the past but the past is meant to be learned from, not lived in. when you've overcome a struggle WHY look back theres nothing back there for you, pick your head up nd keep moving forward. Sometimes its a choice you made and youre unsure, so you look back because of the unsurity but THE FACT OF THE MATTER is the choice has been made so why are you looking back as if it can be changed !? Part of trusting in God is moving forward in faith, the past often is comfortable because its familiar to us, but why tumble down the hill you just fought so valiantly to climb. Dont look back, we all have our modern day Sodom and Gomorrah and when you face them "Remember Lots wife"
