Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As we celebrate Independence Day, our hearts naturally turn to gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy. As Latter-day Saints, we recognize the hand of the Almighty which has been over this nation, creating this land of liberty. As we reflect on political freedom, I invite you to consider a deeper, more enduring freedom—the spiritual liberty restored to the Earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith.
In the Doctrine and Covenants, the Lord declared that He established the Constitution of this land "for the rights and protection of all flesh" (D&C 101:77).
Just as the 4th of July marks a transition from subjection to independence, the Restoration marks a transition from spiritual darkness to the light of the Gospel. Joseph Smith didn't just restore a church; he restored the knowledge of who we are, our divine potential, and the path back to our Heavenly Father.
The First Presidency of our church requests all Saints to unify in Fast this Sunday to express gratitude for religious liberty and to pray that it is strengthened throughout the world.
May we express our thanks for the land we live in by striving to be true disciples of the Prince of Peace. Love,
Bishop Tano
Kahalu'u Ward

MONTHLY FAMILY MESSAGE

THE SACRED ROLE OF FATHERS AND MOTHERS
Fathers and mothers should work together to provide each of their children with a shield of faith.
Fathers are to preside in love and righteousness.
Fathers are to provide their families with the necessities of life and protection.
Mothers participate in God’s work.
Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children.
Fathers and mothers are to help one another as equal partners.
MISSIONARY CORNER
Spiritual Thought: there are two Quotes i wanted to Share from Sister Freemans talk caled "Best Days and Worst Days":
"God allows mortality to do its work in us—and that includes both best days and worst days."
Those best days and worst days are essential to our lives! Ive been able to see how much ive been able to grow and learn from both the best and worst days. Ive been able to rely on my Savior more. Especially on those bad days.
"Jesus Christ brings joy. … You might have a bad day, a bad week, or a bad year. Just remember joy is not the absence of sorrow in your life; it is the presence of Jesus Christ in your life.”
FILL YOUR LIFE WITH JESUS!!!
I love and miss you all. Its so crazy to me still that I have been on my mission for 7 months now. But reach out Id love to hear how everones doing!
