Aloha Kahaluʻu Ward,

Coming off a family home evening focused on Proverbs and the timeless truth that "a soft answer turneth away wrath," our household discussion was lively, to say the least, and delightfully challenging to get through without a few raised voices. But we made it. Yet, it took only a few days before dear old dad needed a humbling reminder of the very lesson we had just preached. It is remarkably easy as parents to focus on how our children should behave, forgetting that we are often the ones who need the gentle correction, remembering that "there is beauty all around when there’s love at home."

Many of our quiet couples' prayers center on asking for the guidance to be worthy parents who can help our children reach their full spiritual potential. In those moments, it is grounding to remember that our own parents offered those exact same prayers for us. It is my testimony that as we continuously strive to nurture and strengthen one another's testimonies within our homes, our family bonds grow unbreakable, and every member is blessed. Amen.
