Aloha Kahalu'u Ward Ohana!
Between the wild weather and everything life keeps throwing at us, I pray you, your families, and your homes are safe, and that through it all, you all had a restful weekend.
I've rotated different quotes on my medicine cabinet mirror pretty much my entire adult life. Scriptures, reminders, things I need to see every day. One that's been up there recently was:
"Stop complaining. Solve the problem."
Simple, blunt, and the more I thought about it, the more I realized, that it can also be applied to the gospel as well!
The Science of Our Choices
Research tells us we make our sharpest decisions when we're rested, fed, hydrated. (Unless we overate, then the kanak attack kicks in instead.... ) As the hours pile on, our mental clarity fades.
The point is, if we're not intentional, our most important decisions get made at our weakest moments.
But What If Some Decisions Were Already Made?
The We Believe App recently paired a lesson with Deuteronomy 30:19 "I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live."
The lesson continued: "Each day brings a new chance to choose life, to choose love, and to choose obedience. Though we may stumble, we can always turn back and choose the Savior again."
The antidote to decision fatigue is predetermined decisions!
When we entered the waters of baptism, we already chose. We took His name upon us. We chose a different path. The Big 3 — pray, read your scriptures, go to church — aren't a to-do list. They're the daily practice of honoring a decision you already made. When life gets loud and exhausting, those predetermined commitments are what keep us anchored.
I pray we all choose today to honor our covenants, serve through our callings and ministering, and be a living ambassador of Christ's love to everyone we meet. And when life gets hard, and we all know it will, may we remember that simple quote on my medicine cabinet: stop complaining, solve the problem. Because that's exactly what the Savior's gospel invites us to do every single day. Choose life. Choose action. Choose Him!
Last but definitely not least, a MASSIVE HUJANGUS congratulations to our Class of 2026 Seniors!!! If you've chosen to head out on a mission please remember... they won't be the best two years of your life, but they will be the best two years for your life.
Much love, Kyle

MONTHLY FAMILY MESSAGE

STRENGTHEN MARRIAGES THROUGH FAITH AND PRAYER
Husbands and wives should work together to increase their Faith in Jesus Christ.
How can increase faith in the Savior help married couples strengthen their relationship with one another? They become more Christlike in their treatment of each other. They become more loving, helpful, gentle, patient and willing to listen to one another. They become more humble and willing to repent and follow the Savior's teachings. The more willing each spouse is to repent and become like the Savior, the more harmonious the marriage will be. Husband and wife are blessed when they pray together.
Gordon B Hinkley counseled: " I know of no single practice that will have a more salutary effect upon your lives than the practice of kneeling together as you begin and close each day. Somehow the little storms that seem to afflict every marriage are dissipated when, kneeling before the Lord, you thank him for one another, in the presence of one another, and together invoke his blessings upon your lives, your home, your loved ones and your dreams.
MOVIE CORNER
Hey Bishop Tano,
Didn’t land the role of Jesus, but I was cast as one of the Twelve Apostles—which turned out to be an incredible experience in itself. They flew me out to Utah for a week, covered everything, and even paid me well for the work.
We filmed a scene from Mark 4:36–41, when Jesus calms the storm. Being on the boat and seeing it unfold from the perspective of an apostle was something I won’t forget. It really made the story feel more human—despite witnessing miracles firsthand, even the apostles still struggled with fear and doubt. That stuck with me. It’s easy to overlook the ways Heavenly Father has shown up in our own lives when we get caught up in everything else. This was a powerful reminder for me to not lose sight of those moments.
Thanks for the recommendation to apply! Should be playing in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building starting around April 2027 when the SLC temple open house starts.
Aloha,
Adam Bede
