Aloha Kahalu’u ohana!

As graduation season fills our homes and hearts, I’ve been thinking about all of our graduates and the exciting opportunities ahead of them. Life opens up with so many choices, possibilities, directions, and voices competing for our attention. It’s exciting—but sometimes overwhelming too.

Recently, my mom got a new smart TV for the living room. Now she has access to all her favorite channels and streaming services—Disney+, Hulu, YouTube, and more. But with so many options, she sometimes gets mixed up about where she is or which app she’s in. She’ll get flustered and feel lost in the sea of choices. If I’m home, I help her find her way back. If I’m at work, I’ll remind her: “Just press the Home button. Reset and start again.”

I realized how much that feels like life. Sometimes we head down paths we thought would lead us where we wanted to go, only to realize we feel lost, discouraged, distracted, or spiritually disconnected. In those moments, we can remember to pause, pray, recenter, and “go home.” Home to the simple teachings of Jesus Christ. Home to prayer. Home to scripture study. Home to the peace of the Savior.

The Savior lovingly invites us:

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

—Matthew 11:28

President Dallin H. Oaks taught:

“We all need to make time in our lives to ‘come unto Christ’ and be perfected in Him.”

No matter how far we wander into the noise and distractions of the world, the Savior remains the center of who we are. Through Him, we can reset, recharge, and move forward again with faith and confidence.

As our graduates step into a new season of life—and as all of us continue our own journeys—I hope we will remember that when life feels confusing or overwhelming, we can always return home to Christ. Aloha,

Sis. Melanie Afualo Relief Society President

MONTHLY FAMILY MESSAGE

STRENGTHEN MARRIAGES THROUGH FAITH AND PRAYER

Husbands and wives should work together to increase their Faith in Jesus Christ.

How can increase faith in the Savior help married couples strengthen their relationship with one another? They become more Christlike in their treatment of each other.  They become more                  loving, helpful, gentle, patient and willing to listen to one another. They become more humble and willing to repent and follow the Savior's teachings. The more willing each spouse is to repent and become like the Savior, the more harmonious the marriage will be. Husband and wife are blessed when they pray together.

Gordon B Hinkley counseled:  " I know of no single practice that will have a more salutary effect upon your lives than the practice of kneeling together as you begin and close each day.  Somehow the little storms that seem to afflict every marriage are dissipated when, kneeling before the Lord, you thank him for one another, in the presence of one another, and together invoke his blessings upon your lives, your home, your loved ones and your dreams.

MISSIONARY CORNER

Hello Everyone!!

This past week has been amazing and has been filled with so many blessings! Heres some updates:

Wenesday: Wenesday we had alot of time to go finding in our Area and we were able to meet alot of awsome people!! We were also able to help a lady redo her garden somn calm haha.

Friday: We had weekly planning...... But after weekly planning we had a awsome lesson with my dawg Jerry!!! we talked to him about the word of wisdom which is always so so fun haha. He has a little problem with smoking but we are going to help him get over itt!!! We are quitting SUGAR for the next three weeks until my boi gets baptized.

Spiritual Thought: there are two Quotes i wanted to Share from Sister Freemans talk caled "Best Days and Worst Days": "God allows mortality to do its work in us—and that includes both best days and worst days." Those best days and worst days are essential to our lives! Ive been able to see how much ive been able to grow and learn from both the best and worst days. Ive been able to rely on my Savior more. Especially on those bad days.  "Jesus Christ brings joy. … You might have a bad day, a bad week, or a bad year. Just remember joy is not the absence of sorrow in your life; it is the presence of Jesus Christ in your life.”

FILL YOUR LIFE WITH JESUS!!!

I love and miss you all. Its so crazy to me still that I have been on my mission for 7 months now. But reach out Id love to hear how everones doing!

-Elder Kahalepuna
