Kahalu'u Ward Message 5/3/26

Aloha Ward Family,
In this weekʻs Come, Follow Me lesson, we explore the theme of "Holiness to the Lord." It’s a powerful reminder that while the ancient Israelites built a physical Tabernacle to house the Spirit of the Lord, we are called to build lives that also do the same.
In Leviticus 19, the Lord gives a simple yet profound command:
"Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy."
What’s beautiful about this chapter is that the "holiness" spoken of isn't just about grand sacrifices or temple ceremonies; it’s also tied to how we treat one another and the charity we give to those around us. The Lord defines holiness through acts of daily discipleship: leaving a bit of our harvest for those in need, being honest in our dealings with our fellow men, and—most importantly—loving Heavenly Father and our neighbors as ourselves.
As we go about our busy schedules this week, let’s consider how our small, everyday actions can be a form of "offering" to the Lord. Whether it’s through a kind word, a moment of patience, or a "willing heart" in our service to each other (Exodus 35:5), we are each contributing to our individual holiness and the holiness of our ward family.

MONTHLY FAMILY MESSAGE

STRENGTHEN MARRIAGES THROUGH FAITH AND PRAYER
Husbands and wives should work together to increase their Faith in Jesus Christ.
How can increase faith in the Savior help married couples strengthen their relationship with one another? They become more Christlike in their treatment of each other. They become more loving, helpful, gentle, patient and willing to listen to one another. They become more humble and willing to repent and follow the Savior's teachings. The more willing each spouse is to repent and become like the Savior, the more harmonious the marriage will be. Husband and wife are blessed when they pray together.
Gordon B Hinkley counseled: " I know of no single practice that will have a more salutary effect upon your lives than the practice of kneeling together as you begin and close each day. Somehow the little storms that seem to afflict every marriage are dissipated when, kneeling before the Lord, you thank him for one another, in the presence of one another, and together invoke his blessings upon your lives, your home, your loved ones and your dreams.
MOVIE CORNER
Hey Bishop Tano,
Didn’t land the role of Jesus, but I was cast as one of the Twelve Apostles—which turned out to be an incredible experience in itself. They flew me out to Utah for a week, covered everything, and even paid me well for the work.
We filmed a scene from Mark 4:36–41, when Jesus calms the storm. Being on the boat and seeing it unfold from the perspective of an apostle was something I won’t forget. It really made the story feel more human—despite witnessing miracles firsthand, even the apostles still struggled with fear and doubt. That stuck with me. It’s easy to overlook the ways Heavenly Father has shown up in our own lives when we get caught up in everything else. This was a powerful reminder for me to not lose sight of those moments.
Thanks for the recommendation to apply! Should be playing in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building starting around April 2027 when the SLC temple open house starts.
Aloha,
Adam Bede
