Kahalu'u Ward Message 10/18/26
Aloha. I'm Elder—Auwai. I'm Elder Hess, and yeah, we're stoked to give the message this week for the Kahaluu Ward. And I just wanted to start off with a scripture from 1 Nephi chapter 8, and it's verse 12. This is Lehi explaining his vision to his family, and he goes on to talk about this tree and how it tasted, and then also what happened after. And he goes:
"And as I partook of the fruit thereof, it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy; wherefore, I began to be desirous that my family should partake of it also; for I knew that it was desirable above all other fruit."
We wanted to share a quick message about sharing the gospel. From this past conference, Elder Caussé gave a talk on the gift of Testimony, and I liked what he said. He said:
"If you have received the gift of a testimony, even if it is only beginning—the beginning of one—it is your duty and privilege to share it. A brief and sincere expression of faith can make a profound difference, whether at home with your family, in testimony meetings, in ministering visits, in missionary lessons, on social media, or in simple, everyday interactions with others. You can share your beliefs such as: 'I love our Savior, Jesus Christ,' or 'The gospel brings joy to me.'"
I really liked how he laid this out. Sometimes it's pretty hard to share something with someone, but if we share it in simple, normal, natural ways, we can bear our testimony by just saying that Jesus Christ lives or that Jesus Christ has blessed me. So, we wanted to invite everyone in the ward this week to share something simple that you love about the gospel, about the joy that you find.
I just want to bear my testimony that as we do that, and as we share the fruits of the blessings that we've received to others—especially to our families—we can truly see others be blessed, and that great joy that Lehi felt can be ours as well. And we say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Thank you all.
